Is It Getting Hot in Here, or Is It Just You?

Just read an insightful report about the plight of polar bears right now, over at CaitsRaven's blog.
Something that tickled me was "the Bush Administration is beginning the review process to decide whether to protect the polar bear".
I'm a bit puzzled about that approach to the issue. Is it really a situation to "decide whether to protect" the polar bear? It would seem much more positive to know one will protect the polar bear and merely decide on the best method how.
The whole approach seems steeped with whether or not any political leverage can be gained from it. And if not, then likely the Bush Administration won't have an interest. If that would be the case, its a clear indication of a lack of geniune sincerity toward caring for the environment and species occupying it.
To do more ourselves lets join Caitlin with supporting measures to protect these severly declining friends of nature. Go here: Stop Globa Warming at Caitlin's blog for more info.

Yes … its Sad how people have to decide to do something about the state of the planet! All life is precious and we can not be so selfish as to consider this planet as OURs. We are mere visitors here, we are the caretakers of this planet and we need to stand up for change NOW be the voice for those who can not speak, but who are suffering mans comforts in silence.
Thank you Tru

Just doing an earthly service. :)
And what makes it so baffling, we already have the technology and capability to give a heart and do something about it.
Just rewatched “The Secret” movie today… I never thought about it this way, but they say that we shouldn't be so negative about topics like this… all our anger & irritation about what's wrong just goes to attract & reinforce the wrong… instead we should focus on the opposite (example- anti war feelings should be turned to pro-peace feelings to increase the peace in the world)…
so instead of frustration/anger/etc, we need to find a replacement feeling— any thoughts?
I get very sad thinking about those polar bears, BTW, I need to feel happy I guess that they are here for me to enjoy & be grateful for the beauty of nature.
Movies like “the secret” are purely idealistic philosophy at best. And its not definitive work. Also, there is no anger, irritation nor frustration associated with my blog post. Its an observation of what is present.
Still anger is a good tool any wise human would keep within reach. Kind of like an alarm system. To make the point, no one is readily cutting off hands due to their history. Or pencils, pens, knives and ropes aren't being banished due to their history. Even calm humans kill, and killing makes some peaceful. Balance in judgement is needed.
I hope this does not come off as a scientific unemotional comment. Yet I see things from a very scientific and natural process. I agree all life is precious and I would never want to do any direct harm to anything. The idea is though to “save” the polar bear, is quite naive. It is the rotation of creation/destruction just on a species level instead of an individual level. To say we “need” to save any species is in direct conflict with obtaining the oneness. Again our planet as an organism is going to meet destruction…again to say we need to save our planet is naive…Again by no means do I want to destroy our planet, and I am all for healthier ways of conducting ourselves within the enviroment. But we all know the saying, “you can't stop the inevitable, we can only postpone it” Our goal will eventually to learn how to adapt to other planets for the survival of our species and perhaps other animals/plants we need to carry our species…almost like a modern noah's ark when our world is consumed in destruction.
Hi Garret,
You raise a popular agnostic point. Surely many will agree with your thinking.
This is why its good to realize our own understanding of what is. As for me, statements like ”Again our planet as an organism is going to meet destruction” are inconclusive. Especially when another source holding authority to a great many says this Earth will stand to time indefinite. Which has found no doubt in my mind.
Polar bears ought to be able to live without a hastened death influenced by the carelessness of humans. In such a case, continuing reckless underscores accountability.
T'would be grossly naive for us not to ensure our best behavior toward all natural life.
i agree with caitlin.
“be the voice for those who can not speak”
i love polar bear. :)
the changes in human is becoming horrible, human and animal and different creatures are used to be friends. we helped each other to live on…when did it change? why the greater power always rules? and takes over everything for their own favor by force? i hate this kind of human's character. but will i be like that too when i have the authority? let's change human (ourselves) before we change the world. what a big issue! :)
Powerful Beammie. I love this statement of yours:
”let's change human (ourselves) before we change the world”
Simply perspective in order. I've seen, and suggested, similar expressions before. And always love to see it's fresh life from new friends.
Wow .. in so much as fewer words much has been displayed and all is valid mind you, but very indicative of what is happening in the world at large. People most anyway, see the world according to themselves at the center of that world. So all that makes up a person, his/her history, education etc etc all have a baring on how and why they act or react to many a situation. Facts are facts, the planet is calling out for help. yes there are cycles within cycles, but never has humanity witnessed the extinction of so many plants and animals due to the disruption of ecosystems caused by MAN alone, not nature. Its wonderful to feel that positive thoughts can change the world and wouldn't it be wonderful it that was just enough. But one must be the change one seeks. And that entails much more than thinking alone. Walk your talk my friends, be peace, be love and be the change. Don't react, ACT.
Thank you tru for being a VOICE.

“…due to the disruption of ecosystems caused by MAN alone, not nature.”
I am sorry I have to disagree here. You are sperating MAN from nature. From this earth, this very life form. Why? Because we are the superior intelligence? If we left this earth, all human beings that is. Would the then superior intelligence species, chimps, be responisbile for the polar bears? Now granted the chimps would not be causing such a rapid rate of destruction due to plants and other CO2 emmisions, I recognize this. But really think about it. We (humanbeings) are a part of this nature, want to know the secret? We are a bacteria. Fly over New York, or Los Angeles. That looks like a cancer spot on our beautiful living organism earth. We keep spreading, just like a bacteria. We are just a very complex form of bacteria. Point blank.
The passion is understood. And your analogy is of merit. But Garret, my friend c'mon.
Is it really necessary to disagree with 'specifying' human accountability for CO2 emissions? Because surely most of us know that is Caitlin's point. She absolutely in no way is out of line designating human responsibility, is she?
For, all of nature isn't driving cars, SUVs, tracter trailers and spraying aresol cans. Nature as a whole isn't polluting.
Besides, obviously Caitlin knows we are apart of nature since she is willing to work to preserve it from careless ruin. Who could think otherwise? Only those who see themselves as independent of nature don't care to help preserve it.
Hello my tru love.
I just adopted my first wolf about a month ago. They are being killed in Canada without cause. so they say. Being shot on sight. And it saddens me for these awesome animals. There is so much I could write on about them but will not because it is your blog. ha.
